# useAtom

# Function: useAtom()

```ts
function useAtom<TValue>(atom, options?): [TValue, (fn) => void & (value) => void];
```

Returns the current atom value together with a stable setter.

This is the writable-atom convenience hook for components that need to both
read and update the same atom.
